QOwnNotes is the open source (GPL) plain-text file notepad with markdown support and todo list manager for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Windows by Patrizio Bekerle, that (optionally) works together with the notes application of ownCloud (or Nextcloud).

QOwnNotes is available in many different languages like English, German, French, Polish, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, Hungarian, Dutch and Spanish
QOwnNotes kann als simpler Notepad-Ersatz dienen, leistet aber wesentlich mehr, wenn man denn will. Die To-Do-List-Funktion ist ebenso dabei wie eingebaute Verschlüsslung (oder alternativer PGP-Einsatz). Darüber hinaus ist Cloudanbindung möglich, bevorzugt natürlich mit dem OwnCloud-Client, aber genauso sind Dropbox & Co möglich. Maximale Freiheit bei minimalen Vorgaben ist das Motto. Deutsch ist als Oberfläche dabei, neben vielen anderen Sprachen. QOwnNotes gibt es für Windows, aber auch für Linux, MacOS. Zusätzlich gibt zum Zugriff auf die ownCloud-Notizem den Verweis auf Third-Party-Software für Android und ioS.

this doesn't seem to trouble ownCloud / Nextcloud notes a lot, but it renames the notes to its own liking
so you could use # at the beginning of your note and it will only be removed in the note file name (unless you allow the note file name to be different from the headline in the General settings)
if you want more control over your note file name you can achieve that by writing a script, please take a look at handleNoteTextFileNameHook
