Eine der größten Neuerungen in der neuen Version ist wohl der Accountzwang, der selbst für Free-User gilt, zunächst jedoch nur Hilfe-Anbietende, nicht aber Hilfe-Suchende betrifft. So möchte das Unternehmen sicherstellen, dass nur diejenigen Hilfe anbieten, die auch Informationen über sich selbst preisgeben. Zum Einsatz kommen diese Daten, weil die Empfängerseite künftig Informationen darüber angezeigt bekommt, aus welcher Region der Welt jemand versucht, den Rechner per TeamViewer zu übernehmen.
