-beschränkt automatisch die Aktivität von CPU-hungrigen Programmen
-weitreichend konfigurierbar
Process Lasso is a unique new technology intended to automatically restrain running processes that are consuming too many CPU cycles. Often times, processes that are 'out-of-control' can bring an NT system to a near halt. Once one or more processes have become CPU resource hogs, termination of the offending process(es) is very difficult since it is nearly impossible to even open the task manager. With Process Lasso, these processes are temporarily reduced in priority so that the system is returned to a responsive level. Process Lasso can even work when multiple processes are responsible for a decrease in system responsiveness.
Copying all or parts of a program is as natural to a programmer as breathing, and as productive. It ought to be as free. - RMS
This version continues feature additions and general product enhancement. It adds a 'keep process running' feature, support of process command lines, a new throttle level, and much more.
This version represents a large product overhaul. Just when you thought Process Lasso couldn't get an leaner, memory use was dramatically reduced through the removal of the COM interface on our process control module. Furthermore, the product was transformed into 100% UNICODE (previous builds were only partially UNICODE). New feature additions include differentiation between individual svchost.exe instances, the ability to designate processes that prevent PC sleep and/or enter the High Performance power scheme, process listview tooltips, and much more!

Home users can use the free build indefinitely, though they will eventually experience some nags and a reduction in available features (see chart below).
This new version adds a large assortment of new features, including I/O Priorities, Default Power Profiles, Automated Updates, Hyperthreaded Avoidance, improved efficiency and several hundred smaller changes. The largest changes are listed below. The full list of minor changes became so convoluted of the course of a long beta series that it was not usable, and was therefore purged. The Portable Edition went final as of v5.0.0.25.

HyperThreaded Core Avoidance
