rclone ist ein kleines Kommandozeilentool, um Dateien und Ordner zwischen Cloudspeichern und dem lokalen System zu synchronisieren. Optional ist Verschlüsselung möglich, FUSE-Unterstützung wohl nur unter Linux.

Leider unterstützt es keinen differenziellen Sync, was eben eines der schönsten Features von rsync ist (neben Hard links). Somit reduziert es sich leider auf ein normales Sync-Tool (auch nur unidirektional) mit der Besonderheit der Cloud-Fähigkeit. Schade.

Ja, Urgesteine, die es immer noch gibt, meistens eben nur für eine Plattform, oder funktionslimitiert. Im Laufe der Jahre hab ich so ziemlich alles mal angetestet. Am Ende bin ich unter Windows immer reumütig zu einer Frickellösung mit rsync unter Cygwin zurückgekehrt (macht keinen Spass mit fstab unter Ntfs zu hantieren. Junctions statt Hard Links wollte ich mir dann doch nicht antun) und rsync unter OS X.

Für automatisierte Lösungen ist rsync, meiner Meinung nach, immer noch das beste Synchronisationstool. Bandbreitenschonend und schnell.

Letzten Endes war es die Betriebssystemunabhängigkeit, die mich an Gordons Tip gereizt hat. Sogar für Arm (Stichwort NAS) gibt es eine Release.
