Features

Toucan is a small utility allowing you to synchronise, backup and secure your data with more options than the built in suite utilities. It is split up into 5 tabs, allowing you to easily find the function that you want. This version features:

Four synchronisation modes, copy, update, mirror and equalise.
Backup and restore in industry standard zip and 7-zip files
Encryption using the BURP updated blowfish algorithm
Command line support, allows you to create a batch file for repeated jobs
Portable variables, point to places on you USB drive no matter what its drive letter is

Sorry, hatte ich nicht kapiert ... immerhin muss man dann entweder bei einem Update den Titel ändern (ohne hatte ich gedacht wäre der Titel quasi ewig aktuell).
Aber ich werde mich natürlich gern an die Gepflogenheiten anpassen.

nö - der Titel lebt Ist ja schließlich das, was in der Übersicht die Leute interessiert.
Also, wenn man thread-Ersteller ist, kann man bei einem Update auch gleich den Titel anpassen.

Ein klein wenig würde ich sagen! Es wäre schön, wenn man beim Backup mehrere Verzeichnisse oder Laufwerke (z.B. Netzlaufwerke/UNC-Pfade) auf einmal auswählen könnte!

Ansonsten finde ich die Idee mit Commandline recht gut. Einstellungen komfortabel über GUI vornehmen, als Job speichern und per Commandline nur noch den Job starten.

Whats New?
Toucan 1.2 adds a small number of new features as well as a number of bugfixes. AES encryption has been added. This is faster than the old BURP algorithm and also appends an extension to your files, so you know exactly what has been encrypted. Drag and drop support has also been added along with a host of other small improvements. French translations are also included along with German. There have also been many bug fixed in this release, such as the mirror bug and the double backslash in portable variables bug.

Toucan 2.0.1 fixes a number of bugs in the 2.0 release. It now also uses MD5 checksums to compare files in Sync and a right click menu has been added to easily exclude files and folders by their name or extension. Polish and Hungarian translations have also been added ...

Eigentlich nur aufgeführt wegen der MD5-Verwendung in der Synchronisation ... ansonsten ist ein "Versionswechsel" in der "dritten Nachkommastelle" eigentlich keine Meldung wert ...

Noch eine Anmerkung: seit dem ersten Eintrag sind die Dateigrößen gewachsen auf:

Also: V. 2.0.1 ist offensichtlich eine frühe Pre-Release und heftigst mit Fehlern behaftet. Neu ist wohl die 2.0.2 - ebenfalls Pre-Release mit "Many many bug fixes" : http://portableapps.com/node/16059

Toucan 2.0.4 has fixed a number of bugs in previous versions. There has also been a massive refactoring of the code, which has fixed a number of memory leaks and improved performance. It also adds the @volume@ variable for getting the volume name of your drive. Finally there are more UI updates. Chinese and Italian localizations have also been added.

Toucan 3.0.4 (vom 30.11.2010)

Toucan 3.0.4 is a small bug fix release. Fixes include improve handling of different case files and better output display sizing. Thanks as always to everyone who helped test.

Please note existing 2.0 scripts are not compatible with Toucan 3, they will need to be rewritten in the new scripting language, for more information see the improved help system linked to in the help.html file in the root of your install.
